Food was delicious- 5 stars Service was good - 5 stars Ambience - clean and nice - 4 stars Quantity- was amazing portions- great value for money! I loved their veg Eel.. yes you heard it right, veg Eel. It's made with delicious long mushrooms but it tastes just like seafood. Never had such an innovative dish anywhere. Honestly, liked the place better than any Michelin starred restaurant.

Yes my new favorite local Chinese restaurant! The food was good for like two days. Seasoning and spices were perfect. While in the area you definitely need to check this place out!! It was super clean and remodeled. Spacious for its customers. All the workers and servers were sweet! The ambiance was priceless with this restaurant. I will be coming back here. This is my new local favorite for Chinese food.

This is an update. I have been here many times and the last time I was here, it was an off night. The service and food were not good. But on Christmas Day, my family of 4 ate here and loved it. I want to give a shout out and thanks to the staff for working on a holiday so we could dine out. Service and food were both excellent. We got the dry green beans, Chinese eggplant (our 2 faves) plus sesame chicken and hot and sour soup. I also love the spicy cabbage and peanuts they give you before you order. I'm so glad to recommend this restaurant once again.

Amazing food in a good location. The veggie dumplings are so good! Those were probably my favorite. We also tried the garlic noodles and chicken fried rice. Everything was very flavorful and delicious. I love that you get complimentary pickled veggies and peanuts with your order, too. I can't wait to eat here again!

Came in on a Saturday night, about 6pm and the restaurant was very busy. We were seated as we walked in, but it took quite some time before we got any service. They were short staffed, but doing the best they could. Everything we ordered was absolutely outstanding! This is our family's new favorite Chinese restaurant! We ordered: Beef with Bitter Melon, Crispy Beef, Salt & Pepper Fish, Honey Walnut Prawns, Combination Hong Kong Style Noodles, Eggplant in Garlic Sauce, and Dry Cooked Green Beans. We had a feast, and ate it all!!! Well, the only thing left over was a small amount of the Beef with Bitter Melon. Coming back in December when I'm in town for the holidays!!!

Sichuan House, Walnut Creek: 2024 Jul 30 (4.25 of 5) This eatery has had its ups-and-downs. Today, it was 'up'. The food was good, the setting was comfortable, and the service great. As soon we were seated, they brought out a plate of peanuts and cabbage in chili oil. The peanuts were fresh and crunchy. Our first bite of the cabbage sees smoke coming out of our ears. The chili oil was super spicy. We ordered a family meal for the three of us - Shanghai Style Prawns, Dry Chili Lamb and Chow Fun with extra combo. For another $1.50, we got prawns added to our chow fun. Overall, this was a 4-plus for us. My friends said they will surely be back.

Been back a couple times (not as often as it really should be considering how much I like this place) since my last review. I finally tried the mapo tofu! It comes very close to tasting like what I had in China many years ago. I'm very excited that I have a place close to home to get some. I also order the sichuan crispy beef. I love that they don't skimp out on the spice. Random thing I really like about the dish is that all the veggies are cut pretty big. Last thing I ordered was chicken chow mien. It's solid, nothing to write home about. The service was very efficient. The two women working the front of the house were on it. They were hustling while also being aware of who needed what. When they told me 20 minutes, they were pretty spot on with that estimate. Continuing to be a happy return customer.

Located in the Countrywood Shopping Center in Walnut Creek, right off of Treat, it had long taken over another Chinese spot years back, but I had yet to come by to try them out. Originally this place had the same owner as Sichuan Fortune House off of Contra Costa, who used to work at one of the oldest known restaurants in Walnut Creek which is now Creekhouse Dim Sum. I had eaten at Sichuan Fortune House a lot back in the day, but had not been for awhile now. Sorry, got a bit off track with the history lesson. The place isn't huge, as it's mostly still the same as it looked when the previous Chinese restaurant was opened in this location. They did change the layout of everything a bit, but that's about it. It does feel a bit old when you get inside, but again, I feel like they more or less just recycled the old restaurant way back, so it hasn't changed much. Not really a fancy place to eat, but could be worse. Came here today because I was in the area, and trying out the lunch special menu today. Looking through the menu, the prices actually aren't bad, especially considering where we were. Lunch specials have a pretty decent amount of selections, and they include rice and soup, with the option to have fried rice instead of just regular white rice. They come with the same free starter dishes as they always did back in the day, spicy cabbage and roasted peanuts. Not a bad thing to snack on while you wait for your meal, and it's free, so more power to them. The soup you have an option of, which is nice. I got the hot and sour soup. It's good. Not spicy at all, which is kind of strange, but the sour was just right, so tasted good overall. The garlic chicken here was good. It's much different than what I used to remember from Sichuan Fortune House, but this version was still good anyways so no complaints. If you like garlic, you will like this dish, as the sauce just has so much of it in there. The broccoli I sort of wish wasn't just an added side but also stir-fried with that sauce, but I think all dishes include this broccoli. Not much I can do about that. Does come with celery though, which I don't like usually, but in this sauce it wasn't an issue. The sichuan gongbao (for those unaware, it's just kung pow) shrimp was pretty good. The flavors were all there. The ingredients were nice. Fair amount of shrimp in there too. Not too spicy, flavored well. Sichuan House is a nice spot for Chinese food if you're in the area and wanted options. Particularly for this area, there's really not a whole lot of other Chinese spots immediately nearby, unless you head down to the Whole Food Ygnacio Valley area, or up Treat onto Clayton for New Lim's Garden. The prices here are decent. For the amount of food you get here, it's actually a pretty good bang for your buck, at least with the lunch special too. Will be back again next time in the area and feeling like Chinese food.
